These terms govern your use of Distance to Planets (distancetoplanets.com). By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

Distance to Planets is provided as a free reference and educational tool. You're welcome to use it for personal, educational, and informational purposes. You agree not to misuse the site — including attempting to overload, scrape at high volume, or interfere with its live-data features in a way that disrupts service for other visitors.

All distances, light-time figures, travel times, launch windows, and related calculations are estimates, generated using established but simplified orbital models — the VSOP87 truncated series for the eight planets, and mean orbital elements propagated circularly for Ceres, Pluto, and moons. These are accurate to within a few percent of true range for the planets, and somewhat less so for the dwarf bodies and moons, which is suitable for general understanding of scale and motion but not for navigation, mission planning, scientific publication, or any other precision-critical use.

Live feeds — including satellite positions, aircraft positions, and rocket launch data — are sourced from third-party providers and are shown as received, without independent verification. These feeds may be delayed, incomplete, or occasionally inaccurate, and illustrative flight paths shown for rocket launches are representative rather than tracked in real time.

The site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.

Nothing on this site constitutes scientific, navigational, engineering, or professional advice of any kind. Decisions of consequence should rely on primary sources such as NASA, ESA, JPL Horizons, or other relevant space agencies and professional bodies.

The site links to and pulls data from third-party services and websites. We don't control these third parties and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, or practices. Visiting a linked site or relying on data it provides is at your own discretion.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Distance to Planets and those who maintain it are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site, or from reliance on any information it presents.

The site's design, layout, original text, and calculators are the property of Distance to Planets unless otherwise noted. Underlying astronomical data and orbital models draw on publicly available scientific methods and are not proprietary.
